Jan Morris

Jan Morris was a Welsh transgender historian, author and writer known for her trilogy on the British Empire, Pax Britannica and her depictions of cities around the world. Her accolades include winning the Golden PEN Award by English PEN for “a Lifetime’s Distinguished Service to Literature” and the Glyndŵr Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts in Wales (1996); being named in The Times as the 15th greatest British writer since the War (2008) and featuring in the Pinc List of leading Welsh LGBT figures.
