Jessie Donaldson
ANTI-SLAVERY CAMPAIGNER
Jessie Donaldson, born in Swansea, was a campaigner for the abolishment of slavery, travelling to Cincinnati in 1856 to operate a ‘safe-house’, risking fines and prison sentences for offering shelter and protection for slaves as they tried to escape to the North of America.
