FOUNDER OF JOJO MAMAN BÉBÉ

Born in Pontypool, Laura Tenison set up JoJo Maman Bébé in 1993, after spending time in hospital after a serious accident, talking to a young mother about the lack of quality maternity wear and children’s clothes.

Today JoJo still has its headquarters in Newport, Wales, and has 90 stores across the UK and Ireland and a current turnover around £70M gross, with 900 employees in the UK. Awarded an MBE for services to business in 2004, and crowned Welsh Businesswoman of the Year in 2009. Tenison remains the company’s Managing Director, dividing her time between London, Wales and the US where the company recently launched their first stores.
