Non Stanford
ATHLETE
From birth Non was brought up surrounded by sport, and by the age of eight identified a desire to one day compete at the Olympic Games. From Swansea Gymnastics club, to Swim Swansea and Swansea Harriers, Non explored her passion for sport through many of her local home clubs. When she was 19, she finally settled on Triathlon, and quickly went from amateur triathlete to World Elite Champion in five years.
Non was the first ever woman to win the World Under-23 title (2012) and Senior Elite title (2013) in consecutive years and is still one of only two athletes in the World, male and female, to have ever achieved that feat. She finally fulfilled her Olympic ambition in 2016 where she finished 4th in the Rio Games. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Non captained Team Wales to its most successful ever Games.
